FIELD TRIPS

Students at The Buffalo Academy of Scholars take frequent field trips that are related to topics being studied in their various subjects. Pre-work to prepare students for the trip is done in the content area related to the trip being planned. While the students are participating in the trip, they have to record observations that are processed once they return to school.

The students are continually asked to identify why they are learning particular topics and how the information being learned connects to other things they know. In this way, the linkages themselves help to improve understanding and aid in recall following the learning experience.
